Paleo Snacks

The paleo diet is one that excludes refined sugars, processed vegetable oils and grains. Contrary to what many people believe, there are still a lot of snacks that one can enjoy while following the paleo diet. Below are some of the paleo snacks:

Cauliflower Popcorn
If you love popcorn, then you may want to consider trying cauliflower popcorn. This is a delicious recipe that you can prepare in just 10 minutes. It takes about one hour to cook. The first thing that you will need to do is preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Trim the cauliflower’s head and cut off the thick stems and core. Cut the florets into ping-pong ball-sized pieces.

Combine salt and olive oil into a large bowl. Add the pieces of cauliflower and toss them thoroughly. Put the cauliflower pieces on a baking sheet and allow them to cook for about one hour. Turn the pieces three or four times while they are cooking. Make sure most of the each cauliflower piece turns brown before taking them out of the oven.

Green Eggs
You will need some eggs and kale to make this delicious snack. Blend the eggs with a few kale leaves. Do not remove the leaf from the stalks. Scramble the kale leaves and egg together. This delicious snack will give you plenty of protein and fiber.

Homemade Trail Mix
Homemade trail mix is a lot healthier than the ones that you would find inside of a grocery store. You can make your own trail mix at home by using nuts like macadamias and almonds and adding dried fruit with no sugar added. This is a great snack to make when you are craving sugar.

Egg-Stuffed Pepper

In order to make this nutritious snack, you will need to hollow out a bell pepper. After that, you will need to fill the bell pepper with two or three cracked eggs. Sprinkle the bell pepper and eggs with salt and pepper. Bake it until the eggs have been cooked thoroughly.

Kale Chips
This is one of the simplest paleo snacks that you can make. In order to make this snack, you will need to cut some kale into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle some sea salt on them and coat them with coconut or olive oil. Bake them until they are golden brown.

Just because you follow a paleo diet does not mean that you are limited to eating bland foods. Kale chips, egg-stuffed peppers, homemade trail mix, green eggs and cauliflower popcorn are just a few of the many snacks that you can enjoy.
